We started our year of 10 hikes today with a short hike close to home – Joaquin Miller Park here in Oakland.

We tried to use the coordinates listed on the above site to get us to the trailhead with our GPS.  Maybe it’s the fact that the website hasn’t been updated in 10 years, but that wasn’t so successful.  So we just parked where it seemed others were parking and headed towards green stuff.

The weather was perfect, and most of this park is pretty shaded even if it had been too warm.  We started off on the sunset trail (which was steep to begin) and then ended up following some other trail that I can’t remember the name of at the moment.  Overall, a nice time to just be outside and active.
